Organizer are already setting dates though some dates are still tentative - watch for updates through the next few months.
There has been a flurry of interest this year already. The Marathon Canoe Racing Council hasn't developed a 2014 Expression of Interest Form yet. We will likely do that after the Council's annual general meeting on Nov. 29. We have informed the current Chair, Fiona Vincent, of the early interest. The form will be posted on the CKC website with a link to the website for the Ontario Marathon Canoe and Kayak Racing Association. Regards, Don Stoneman Sec-Treasurer, MCRC

Fall coaching opportunities
This is for intermediate level paddlers to learn marathon techniques in technical waters: Water level decides where the session will be. The river from The Meatherall bridge to Putnam bridge is one of the most technical rivers in south western Ontario. That is where most sessions will take place. From the 401 take the Putnam cut off go north to the stop sign. Then turn right 4 kilometres on Hamilton road or east. Go to the next road on the left Meatherall . The bridge is 100 meters from Hamilton road. The time in the 2 summer months is 7;30 the time in the spring and fall is 8 AM. Most sessions will be 2 hours. Thanks for your help. coach Bob contact Bob at
Great article. Jeff completed the Muskoka X with Mia Lee. It's rumored Jeff has recently gone to the "dark side" and is now paddling kayak (18X)

International Canoe Federation World Cup marathon canoe event in Oklahoma City.
Congratulations to members of our extended Marathon family in Saskatchewan!!! Mike Vincent finished sixth in the senior men's K1 event, with Fearghus Vincent finishing 10th in the same race. Lexy Vincent placed eighth in the junior women's K1 event. Patriarch Bob Vincent in Ontario you'll recall came in first with Dean Brown in the recent Muskoka River X and is currently running clinics on the Thames. Talent and determination run in that family!!!
